| Air France Sees No Delay In A380 Service |
The collapse of a roof at Charles de Gaulle Airport's Terminal 2E over the weekend will not delay the entry into service of Air France's Airbus A380s, the airline's chairman said on Wednesday.
"We are impatiently awaiting this plane," Jean-Cyril Spinetta told French radio station Europe 1.
"In agreement with Airbus, we have planned for the plane to arrive on April 1, 2007. On April 1, 2007, it will be operational in the new terminal Satellite 3, which is currently under construction and will be completed in time for the A380."
Air France has ordered 10 of the 555-seat planes and will take delivery of them between 2007 and 2009.
Spinetta also said that the accident, which killed four people when slabs of concrete and glass tumbled to the ground, would result in additional costs for Air France, but predicted they would be limited.
"We will certainly have additional costs, but they will be limited and reasonable. Nothing calls into question our targets to improve our results in 2004/05," Spinetta said.
