| 2005 A Unique Year For Orders - Boeing |
No other year will match 2005 in terms of plane orders because the business cycle is changing, a vice president of Boeing was quoted as saying on Friday.
Boeing and Airbus had record net combined orders for 2,057 planes last year.
"There will never be another year like last year. It is impossible that the market will generate 2,000 orders in one single year again," said Nicole Piasecki, vice president marketing and business strategy.
"Last year's boom was the result of a change of cycle, to different needs of airlines needing new products," she added.
Boeing has forecast deliveries of 395 planes this year and between 440 and 445 next year.
Piasecki said Spain continued to be a strong market with plenty of demand from low-cost airlines, and Boeing expected to sell about 400 planes there in the next 20 years.
