Date: Wednesday, June 13 @ 14:05:59 PDT Topic: Aviation
The chief executive of European planemaker Airbus said in a newspaper interview that the company's annual plane deliveries should rise to 500 a year from 2009-2010.
Airbus Chief Executive Louis Gallois also reaffirmed the company's 2007 target to deliver 440-450 planes. Gallois is also co-chief executive of Airbus's parent company EADS.
"We are going to deliver between 440 and 450 planes. This should progressively rise so that by 2009-2010 we will deliver around 500 planes," he said in an interview due to be published in French paper La Tribune on Wednesday.
Gallois said he did not expect any new delays to the company's A380 plane and that the A350 was on track to enter service in mid-2013.
Gallois also said EADS's current structure of having two powerful stakeholder groups in France and Germany was not ideal.
