Air France Flight Lands In Beirut After Bomb Hoax
Aviation An Air France flight from Dubai to Paris was forced to land in Beirut on Thursday after a bomb threat that airline officials said turned out to be a hoax. "There was a phone call to Dubai after the plane took off to say there was a bomb on board," said Georges Lteif, an Air France official in Beirut. "The plane was instructed by Paris to land at about 4:40 a.m. (0140 GMT)... They searched the plane twice and found nothing." He said 254 passengers were on the Boeing 777. Security sources at Beirut Airport said it took off again for Paris just before 9:00 a.m.
