| Southwest Plane Evacuated At Burbank Airport |
The crew of a Southwest Airlines jet aborted take-off from Burbank Airport outside Los Angeles on Friday and the plane was evacuated after a passenger made a remark about a bomb.
The plane had taxied into position for take-off when the crew halted the departure and summoned police, said Victor Gill, a spokesman for Burbank's Bob Hope Airport.
Gill said the decision was made because of an overheard remark by a passenger "referencing a bomb in some fashion." There were no reports of injury, and passengers appeared to be taken off the plane without incident.
Local TV stations showed dozens of people streaming off the plane as it was surrounded by police, who began a search of the baggage compartment and passenger cabin.
