| Xiamen Airlines Orders 10 Boeing 737s |
China's Xiamen Airlines said on Thursday it had ordered 10 aircraft from Boeing, with delivery slated to start in the middle of 2006.
Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
The order was part of a bigger announcement last month by Boeing, which said it received firm orders to sell 70 aircraft from its 737 family of planes to China without specifying individual airlines.
Chinese state media reported that deal was worth USD$4 billion.
On Wednesday, Shanghai-based China Eastern Airlines also announced it has agreed to buy four Boeing 737-NG aircraft for about USD$228 million.
Asia has emerged as a battleground in Boeing's effort to regain market share from rival Airbus.
Airbus earlier this month announced its own mega-order in China, agreeing to sell 150 planes to Chinese carriers.
