This base, located in Cambridgeshire 3.5 miles north west of Royston, was transferred to the 8th U.S.A.A.F. Command in october 1942. The 91st B.G. stayed here until june 1945. &#039The Ragged Irregulars&#039 commanded by Colonel Stanley Wray moved here from Kimbolton. This was the base of the B-17 &#039Memphis Belle&#039. The 91st B.G. flew 340 missions, losing 197 B-17s.
