 This mission is based on Chapter 9 of Fate is the Hunter. If you haven't read the book, hopefully this mission will encourage you to do so. It is autobiographical and covers the early days of piloting the airlines, from the mid 30's to just after World War 2. The mission is about Gann's first flight to Greenland, in the late summer of 1942. Working for the Air Transport Command, he carried cargo from Presque Island Maine to Goose Bay, Labrador. At Goose Bay he was pressed into service to fly the cargo on to Bluie-West-One, Narsarsuaq, Greenland. His only briefing was a film that he was shown taken along the coast of Greenland during fair weather. Flying across the North Atlantic at a time when Nav aids were nonexistent was risky enough, but things deteriorate from there.
